“Umbra is one of my favorite pieces to play live. It began as the finale of my solo piano show, and soon became a collective celebration based on improvisations. A few hours in the studio, and it was alive! I have so much fun playing it with my wonderful musicians, Julia and Natalia Kotarba, and with my longtime partner (and friend), Maxime Navert, on synths. ‘Umbra’ refers to the darkest part of the shadow, but this piece was created to try to put some light in it." – Alexandra Stréliski
