Bruce Springsteen (prononcé en anglais : bɹuːs ˈspɹɪŋstiːn), né le à Long Branch (New Jersey), est un auteur-compositeur-interprète et guitariste américain.
Surnommé « The Boss », il est l'un des chanteurs de rock les plus populaires aux États-Unis, où il a vendu plus de 64 millions de disques au cours de sa carrière. Au niveau mondial, il a vendu plus de 140 millions, ce qui fait de lui un des artistes ayant vendu le plus de disques de l'histoire de la musique,. Connu pour ses concerts énergiques qui peuvent durer plus de quatre heures, il est souvent accompagné sur scène du E Street Band. Son style musical a trait au heartland rock, produisant des titres mélodieux orientés vers les problématiques de la classe ouvrière américaine, dont sa famille est issue.
Selon le classement établi par le magazine Rolling Stone, il figure à la 36e place parmi les 100 plus grands chanteurs de tous les temps, ainsi qu'à la 23e place des 100 plus grands artistes. Il est également classé, toujours par le magazine Rolling Stone, 96e parmi les 100 plus grands guitaristes de tous les temps. En 2016, il reçoit la médaille présidentielle de la Liberté des mains de Barack Obama.
