Headlining @LetItRollfestival one of the biggest drum & bass festivals in the world was a true bucket-list moment for me. Standing on a stage alongside names like Chase & Status and so many other artists I’ve respected in this scene for years felt surreal.

But what stayed with me most was the crowd.

The energy. The openness. The reaction to the music. The feeling that, even though this is the beginning of something new, you were willing to come on this journey with me.

Thank you to everyone at Let It Roll, everyone in the drum & bass community who has shown love, and everyone who has reached out since the show. I feel incredibly grateful for the warm welcome. 🖤

HEXAGON Radio 600! The “I Miss The Old Don Diablo” episode!

Welcome to a very special episode of HEXAGON Radio!

We made it to episode 600 (!) Wow! That’s almost twelve years of weekly dedication and discipline to bring to you the very best dance music of the future and to celebrate, I wanted to do something I’ve never done before. This mix is called “I Miss The Old Don Diablo.” It features music that I made between 2002 and 2014, the twelve years before HEXAGON Radio even started twelve years ago!

For me, this isn’t about looking back because I wish things were the way they used to be. It’s about celebrating the journey. This mix is a snapshot of where I came from as a producer, musician, and artist. It reminds me of the experiments, the risks, the late nights, and the endless curiosity that shaped everything I’ve done since.

I’m incredibly proud of all the music I’ve created throughout my life. And I’m especially grateful for the people who are still with me after all these years, not because they wanted me to repeat the past, but because they’ve embraced the evolution. Real Hexagonians don’t live in yesterday. We respect where we came from, but we’re always looking ahead and sometimes we find a way to adapt and make something unique out of a movement that feels relatable to the zeitgeist of that particular era.

We are innovators. We stay open-minded. We don’t follow trends, we create tomorrow. We push boundaries while staying true to our creative soul and sometimes still manage to input outside influences that feel right for that particular period in time.

Looking back at these records reminds me of being thirteen years old, building my very first studio in my parents’ attic, making music simply because I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. That same feeling, that same excitement, is still what drives me today.

I carefully selected and mixed every record in this set myself. Whether this mix takes you on a nostalgic trip down memory lane or introduces you to a side of my music you’ve never heard before, I hope you’ll enjoy every minute of it. Fun fact: you can hear my voice singing on multiple records in this mix.

And remember, as a true visionary, you should expect to be misunderstood! Some people replay old chapters, I prefer experimenting and writing new ones whilst still being proud of the past. People who keep chasing the past…usually miss the future, which is what we are all about.
