When they’re at a massive scale, like these huge dance music festivals like Ultra, there are a number of logistics that go into planning.
Before you can even think about planning, the music for your set, there are deals to be made, flights to be booked, getting lots of gear to your shows in advance.
There needs to be dedicated time for rehearsals. Time for the wardrobe that you’re going to wear on stage. Hiring Make Up Artists, And these days, you have to capture everything that happens Behind-the-scenes. Choreographers help you have a game plan on stage.
Touring as a musician is not an easy lifestyle. You’re constantly on the go. Living out of a suitcase. Jetlag is always at play. Your immune system gets compromised, and you get sick often. For example, I ended up losing my voice three days before one of the biggest shows of my career. Sometimes doctors need to get involved and give you the best plan of action to get you back into shape.
Sound technicians are working hard to make you sure you sound good when you’re singing live. Lighting technicians have to make sure everything is as spectacular as can be. If you want to give your audience, a really special experience, you can film custom visuals that play on those gigantic monitors at these live concerts.
Although it can be stressful, it is definitely one of the most satisfying part of being a musician

For the past 15 years, just about every summer, I’m blessed to spend quality time with my family and friends on the north coast of Egypt. When I’m there, I get to unwind and recharge after spending months recording music in the studio beforehand.
My husband who grew up in Egypt, has always had an incredibly warm community surrounding him. Year after year, they show me the most incredible hospitality and warmth whenever we go back to visit.
This summer, I was so inspired to start sharing a new chapter of my music with you all. In that spirit, I ended up connecting with my dear friend, Seif Ismail, and we filmed these visuals to share with you the magical sunset and full moon that we had with us that day.
The Mediterranean Sea, where this was filmed and where I met my husband 15 years ago, is just a few hundred miles away from Benghazi, Libya, where I was born. The significance of this made it the perfect set location.
Goodbye dear summer, you’ve been very very kind to me… In a few weeks, a new season and new music will be upon us!
