Steve Winwood performs ‘Why Can’t We Live Together’ on PBS Soundstage in Chicago—a powerful live take on Timmy Thomas’s classic, as featured on Steve’s album About Time.

This week’s clip comes from Estival Jazz Lugano, Switzerland (2013) — Steve tearing into “Light Up or Leave Me Alone,” the Traffic favourite. 

Originally written by Jim Capaldi and first released on Traffic’s 1971 album The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys, the song has become a live highlight with its rolling groove and room to stretch.
