Indienne

A song that has travelled from my heart, to the stage and now to all of you 🩷

My new independent release, Bairi Piya is out now on all streaming platforms!

“Bairi Piya” holds a very special place in my journey. It was the song that introduced me to the world as a singer , the beginning of a journey I could never have imagined at the time.

Years later, I find myself returning to this same phrase - Bairi Piya but this time, with a completely different sound and a different version of me.

Through this song, I wanted to explore a freer, more instinctive side of my musical identity, one that feels deeply personal to me and one I feel more unafraid to embrace today.

Rooted in the soul of Indian melody, this *Bairi Piya* takes a bold contemporary turn. The song brings together an energetic drum-and-bass-inspired pulse with the evocative textures of the sitar and zitar (electric sitar), creating a sound that feels both familiar and unexpected.

This song travels through the many shades of femininity, desire and tenderness, vulnerability and strength, intimacy and abandon, allowing the voice, the music and the emotion to move freely, without restraint.

From the song that marked my beginning to the music I am creating now - Bairi Piya is a full-circle moment.

I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I loved creating it 🤍

Lyrics -
Nainon se karun tore sang batiya..
Sun na lein chanda sitaare ratiya..
Bol dun, bol jo lab se tujhe..
Haan…
Laaj ke maare mar jaun na piya..
Ghabraye mora jiya,
Tune mora naam jo liya,
Kaisa mohe ghaav ye diya,
Bairi piya….
Akhiyaan akhiyon mein kyun daare na
Bol na bole bin kaahe jaane na
Haule se mora haath kyun thaame na
Bairi piya...
Kaliyan nadiyan sab sunlengi
Sakhiyan saari mohe chhedengi
Haule se mora haath kyu thaame na
Bairi piya….
Aa zara dekh le tu, nainon mein saare, jo hain sawaare
Raaz hain ghul rahe, Sun yeh kya keh rahe...
Hain jo khamoshiyon mein, baaton mein waisi, baatein kahaan re
Bas ishaaron mein chal, aaj dono bahein...
Piyaaaaa…kaahe piya...
Samjhe na batiyaan, beeti jaaye ratiyaan re
Kaahe tu ne kaam yeh kiya
Tune mora naam jo liya
Kaisa mohe ghaav yeh diya
Bairi piya…
Haan….
Akhiyaan akhiyon mein kyun daare na
Bol na bole bin kaahe jaane na
Haule se mora haath kyun thaame na
Bairi piya..
Kaliyan nadiyan sab sunlengi
Sakhiyan saari mohe chhedengi
Haule se mora haath kyu thaame na
Bairi piya….
Akhiyaan akhiyon mein kyun daare na
Bol na bole bin kaahe jaane na
Kaliyan nadiyan sab sunlengi
Haule se mora haath kyu thaame na…..
