Kate Rusby's New Single 'LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE'
A Poignant and Uplifting Message for All

Beloved folk icon Kate Rusby is set to release her deeply moving new single, ‘Let Your Light Shine’, on March 21st 2025, marking the first release from her much-anticipated new album, When They All Looked Up, out April 25th, 2025. With its heartfelt message and signature Rusby charm, this single promises to resonate deeply with listeners of all ages.
At its core, Let Your Light Shine is an intimate letter of love and encouragement from Rusby to her two teenage daughters. Yet, its message transcends family ties, offering an uplift or boost to anyone who needs a reminder of their inner strength and worth.
“This song is my advice to my daughters, but also to anyone who might need to hear it,” says Rusby. “It’s about embracing who you are, having faith in your unique gifts, and letting the world see your light. Be strong, be positive, and be kind.”
The poignant lyrics, combined with Rusby’s captivating vocals and a lush arrangement, are elevated further by Kate’s stellar band and the addition of the award-winning Barnsley Youth Choir’s Senior Choir. Let Your Light Shine is the lead single from Rusby’s forthcoming album. Kate Rusby embarks on her 'Singy Songy Session Tour' April & May 2024 - expect a more intimate show this Spring! So what will the show be this Spring! Well, Kate was reminiscing about filming the Singy Songy Sessions through 2020 (still available to view on her YouTube channel right here!) and how much she loved doing them each week to send out to you! It brought her and husband @damienokane7633 so much joy hearing from you all, your stories and how you connect with different songs. So we thought we’d bring a similar gig out on the road.

A more petite touring format so a little more acoustic in parts, with myself and the incredibly talented Damien O’Kane, Duncan Lyall and Sam Kelly.

One of the Top Ten Folk Voices of the Century, a Mercury Prize Winner and 6-times BBC Radio 2 Folk Award Winner, Rusby and her band promises stunning vocals, skilled musicianship, Yorkshire humour, and songs old and new from her impressive back catalogue 🥳🥳

Celebrating over 30 years of touring and 22 albums including her latest beautifully stunning Christmas album, Light Years, released in December 2023, Kate and her band of merry and very talented men will be visiting us in her 50th birthday year with songs old and new.
